A Swedish hotel has caused contoversy by offering its customers a range of  sex toys in their rooms. Local authorities are up in arms, but hotel staff say their guests just love the raunchy playthings.
The Berns Hotel in Stockholm, Sweden recently added sex toys such as sexy underwear, vibrators, and handcuffs to the range of items it places in its guest rooms.
It’s quite a change from the usual minibar drinks, candy bars, nuts, potato crisps, tea, coffee and a Gideon Bible.
Local police are livid about the sex toys, because they have been trying to stamp out prostitution in the city’s bars and hotels.
“The hotel is trying to glorify something that we are working to de-glorify,” local police officer Tom Eckerling told the Swedish English-language news site The Local news.
The hotel is unrepentant and insists its guests are happy with the amenities, but clarifies that its staff normally remove the bedroom toys from rooms occupied by families.
“There is nothing ugly with sex, that is something that we want to show,” the hotel’s reception manager Andreas L’Estrade said. “And it won’t attract prostitution here.”
